WHO THE HECK IS THIS CRAZY GAL?

“There are a few people, a precious few…who find something they have to do. Something obsesses 'em. Something that if they can't do it, it's gonna drive them clean out of their mind.” -

I’m that gal. Starting this consulting business is something I had to do. It is part of my DNA to be a sharer of things. Things I’m learning, things I’ve heard, things that work and things and people that I’m excited about. Over the last decade, I’ve worked closely with tons of experts, CEOs and highly successful executives in the business world and I am so excited to share what I’ve learned.

I was that person in high school who bounced from one lunch table to the next. I loved getting into deep conversations with the newest exchange student, joining every social club I could and throwing mega pool parties every week at my house.

Photo taken in Rome, right before I crashed it and busted my knee. Yup. I’m that person too. Even if I crash and burn, I’ll try it anyway.

Fast forward to 2014 in New York City, where I found myself broke and jobless. By that time I had built up a semi-reputable amount of experience in public relations & marketing, but not enough niche experience to land a coveted job at an ad agency. After a breakdown in Central Park, I remembered that my former boss suggested I make extra money designing presentations. (Apparently people do make a living doing this!)

So, I took a leap of faith, sent my portfolio to a recruiting company and within two weeks I was working on a pitch at McCann New York, one of the most well-known ad agencies in the world. Somehow I had sneaked in the back door with no agency experience - where months ago, they wouldn’t have even looked at my marketing resume. But I had found my niche. And my career just took off from there!

Now here I am several years later with a client list I would have never thought possible. And about to teach my 4th class on presentation strategy for the NASA internship program. (What the wha??) I’ve worked one on one with CEOs, created pitch decks for award-winning ad agencies, designed sales presentations for global media & tech companies and my favorite part….got to experience the ins and the outs (the good and the bad) of over 25 corporations & firms in New York City. How can I not share what I’ve learned?

I’m currently focused on helping entrepreneurs get funded. I work independently and with Oaklyn Consulting, a private equity consulting firm in Tennessee.
