About Me

LEAH K. WILLIAMS, FOUNDER & PRESIDENT

HOW I STARTED

After spending my 20s traveling the world and working in PR, I got a job offer to run marketing for a small chocolate company in New York. And that's where my journey really began.

I spent the next two years trying to work my way into the New York PR world — but doors weren't opening. So I prayed: "God, if you want me to live in New York, you have to send me some money." In one of those rare moments where you actually hear from God, I heard Him say: "Send your portfolio to Creative Circle." A staffing firm in NYC.

So I did.

Two days later I was sitting in their office. Two weeks later I was working on a billion dollar pitch at McCann — one of the top ad agencies in the world. And the ball just kept rolling after that.

HOW IT WENT

For the next few years I worked back-to-back on new business pitch teams for nearly every major ad agency in New York — pitching and winning Fortune 500 clients. After learning everything I could possibly learn in that world, I switched to the client side and worked directly with companies like Google, Discovery Networks, Ann Taylor, and Equinox Sports Club. I also led pitch deck workshops for NASA and the United Nations.

But in 2019 I felt God leading me to leave New York. Little did I know, Covid was about to hit a year later. But God knew.

After moving back to the South — where I'm from — I did what everyone else did and just tried to get through the Covid years. But something unexpected happened during that time. I started working with startups. And that opened up a whole new world for me.

WHERE I AM TODAY

Twelve years in, I've built a thriving business out of one of the biggest headaches in the business world: the pitch deck. The necessary evil nobody wants to deal with. And I happen to love it.

What makes me different is the combination of three things most pitch deck specialists don't have: a background in PR, a background in marketing, and an innate eye for graphic design. That last one isn't self-taught — my mother was an artist. It's just in me.

My goal is simple. I want to help you sell your why — not your what. Your what is the idea. Your why is what gets you out of bed in the morning. Your why is what drove you to start this in the first place. Your why is what gets you the meeting.

Let's work together to pitch it.
